“You’re not like some other actresses, you’re not some other celebrities.
You’re not somebody who’s just sitting on the corner, waiting for the next opportunity.
You have to take charge of your life.”
Alyssa Eden Edwards, best known for her roles on The Bachelor and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, is not exactly the type of celebrity you’d expect to be leading the charge for gender equity in Hollywood.
Edwards, 36, is currently on the sidelines as she prepares to start a new chapter as the head of her own private gym in Los Angeles.
The former Teen Mom 2 star and her husband, Kevin, have not been shy about voicing their concerns about the lack of diversity in the industry.
Edwards said she’s received messages of support from a wide range of people, including President Donald Trump and actress Rose McGowan.
“You know, I think it’s amazing.
It’s amazing how diverse the industry is, and I think that we need to be more outspoken and vocal,” Edwards told EW.
“It’s really important for women to be vocal in the face of discrimination.
So we need a movement, a movement of women who are willing to take on that, because the women in Hollywood aren’t going to stand for it.” “
And we have to be able to do it because we can’t have a country that is run by a bunch of women.
So we need a movement, a movement of women who are willing to take on that, because the women in Hollywood aren’t going to stand for it.”
Edwards said it took her a few months to fully understand the gravity of the issue.
“I didn’t really think about it until a few weeks ago, and then I started to realize what I was going through.
I was like, ‘OK, I need to get out of here,'” she told EW of the aftermath of her comments on Twitter.
“I was just like, Oh, OK.
That’s a really big deal.
You know what I mean?
I’ve seen a lot of my friends get harassed.
I’ve had people tell me that they don’t want me in their lives, because they don’st want to do what I do.
It makes me really uncomfortable.”
Edwards’ comments came after she was criticized for claiming that she has a “double standard” when it comes to sexual harassment in Hollywood, a comment that was met with outrage and criticism on social media.
The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Edwards to discuss why she thinks the industry needs to take a more active role in addressing the issue, as well as why she doesn.
“When you’re working in the entertainment industry, you have to make decisions and have to go through the process, and it’s very frustrating,” Edwards said.
“That’s what makes it a difficult job and you don’t have the luxury of not knowing what’s going on in the world around you, you know?
But I’m not saying that you don, or shouldn’t, say things, but that you should not be doing things and you shouldn’t be doing them in public because that can actually hurt your career.”
