Atilis Gymbellmawrs gym in Denver, which closed in November, reopened on Friday after a $20,000 donation from a local pet owner.
Owner Kari Lipschutz said she is thrilled with the new space and the addition of a large indoor dogfighting ring.
She said her husband and daughter, who have been active in the dogfighting community for years, have been looking for a place to play.
“I don’t have any dogs, so I really wanted to see if I could find a place where I could have a dogfight, something that would make my kids happy,” she said.
Lipschultz said she has had a lot of people ask if she wanted to reopen the gym, which she said has been closed for more than a year.
She hopes the new location will attract more families.
“They’re going to be able to see it,” she told The American Conservatives.
“I don`t want to give them an excuse to not come here, but I just hope they want to come.”
If they want the dogfight for their kids, I think it`s worth it.
“The gym closed after being closed for about a year and a half.
Lipshutz said the dogs were kept indoors in cages.”
In December, the Denver Humane Society announced that it had rescued three pit bull puppies from the former Atilists. “
They`ll just go outside and be friendly with their owners.”
